20 июня 1928, Бруклин, Нью-Йорк, США — 15 июля 2017, Лос-Анджелес, Калифорния, США. Начал свою карьеру в возрасте семнадцати лет в газете "Нью-Йорк дейли ньюз" как мультипликатор и иллюстратор. Но вскоре перешел к профессии актера и дебютировал на сцене в спектакле "Детективная история" (1951) в театре "Мейнс Пик Айлендс". Он присоединился к актерской студии в Нью-Йорке в 1955 году, а затем дебютировал на Бродвее в постановке "Середина ночи" (1957).
