Douglas Welbat

Douglas Welbat (born April 25, 1957, in West Berlin) is a German film producer, radio drama performer, actor, audiobook narrator, director, voice-over artist, and screenwriter. Douglas Welbat hails from a family of actors and is the son of Alexander Welbat and Siegrid Hackenberg. After completing his acting training under Karl Paryla, he initially worked in the theater before establishing himself primarily as a radio drama writer, voice actor, and producer. In the early 1980s, together with Katja Brügger and Bertram von Boxberg, he wrote the radio drama adaptations of the Dan Shocker series *Larry Brent* and *Macabros* for the label Europa—works that achieved widespread popularity.
